To say the least you could say my eyesight was dire with a prescription of -18 in my right eye and -12.75 in my left. I never thought surgery would be available for someone of my prescription and had long accepted a lifetime of glasses, contact lenses and contact lens solution. This was until I met a former patient by chance who told me. I have to when first hearing of such a treatment I was a bit sceptical the phrase "too good to be true" came to mind. However I decided to take a chance and exchange details with this former patient. I phoned the clinic and booked a FREE consultation trying my best not to build my hopes up. When I first visited, I was firstly struck by the level of hospitality I received being nothing short of first class. I wasn't just treated like a mere patient/customer; I was treated like a human being. Both eyes were checked thoroughly before and treatment was recommended and it was clear that each member of staff knew what they were doing. In the end it was deemed possible for me to receive ICL surgery. The surgery itself was top class with the procedure being surprisingly quick. All throughout the surgery I was welcomed to a warm and caring atmosphere and I was left feeling utterly spoilt and satisfied with the service. Finally I can say that I no longer have to depend on glasses or contact lenses with me currently having no prescription in my left eye and my right being significantly improved. The service provided has been nothing short of a miracle and I will be forever thankful for what they given me. I recommend that anyone not sure on whether to go through with eye surgery to do it, you won't regret it!

Before having the treatment I wore glasses. I decided to have Clear Lens Exchange and it is the best thing I have ever done. There was no pain what so ever. The team were very professional and made you feel at ease. I was used to wear varifocal glasses which I hated. Now I can read newspapers small print etc I wish I had the Lens Replacement done years ago. I can highly recommend this simple procedure to anyone.

I found the whole experience very good, having researched the options available and having seen 2 other clinics, it was Mr Pillai's reputation that was the deciding factor. He's got a very authoritative and reassuring manner and is obviously at the top of his field in laser eye surgery. I, along with countless others, have I'm sure considered the laser eye surgery however I have always been sceptical about it as I have a friend who is an optician and has made me aware that these types of procedures don't always work out as hoped. I found the whole experience very comfortable, the staff were very knowledgeable, the initial eye test consultation was thorough and I was happy there was a fee involved. This gave the impression that it was not a 'get rich quick scheme', whereby they just load it into your overall treatment charge. Regarding the actual procedure, I was pleasantly surprised at how painless it all was. I genuinely think going to the dentist is more uncomfortable. I was given a magic Valium tablet and my wife accompanied me to the treatment room. The whole procedure probably took about 30 minutes in total and apart from a little discomfort when the eye clamps were put on, it's nothing really. Being talked through every stage by Mr Pillai helped a lot too. Obviously as a result of the procedure that you go for I have to admit for me it has been far better than anticipated. Wearing glasses full time had started to become a bit of a burden in my life. I was at a computer all day and it had just stretched for just computer work, to all day usage. The deciding factor for me was when my glasses became the first thing I put on in the morning and the last thing I took off at night. I've been for 2 eye tests, up to now and have been amazed by the results. I don't even have to wear glasses during the day although this may change as I get older. I can only speak from personal experience, but for me it has genuinely been life changing. I still at times push the glasses up the bridge of my nose and overall it's just made my life a lot easier. If you're considering having it done, I don't think you will find better than Mr Pillai.

I am so fortunate to have met Mr Pillai and his staff. I was a bit nervous at having the treatment but was reassured throughout the whole experience. The staff were very kind and personal. They were also very thorough in explaining the ICL process from paperwork to surgery. I felt very comfortable and trusted that my eyes were in the right hands. I would also like to thank the surgeon and all his lovely staff for a professional job and for the care and support I received. It is so amazing to be able to see clearly and not to have to reach out for glasses in everyday life.I am beyond satisfied with the results and would highly recommend ICL; truly a life changing experience! From start to finish I can't fault the service I have received. Before coming, I had had previous consultations with both Optimax and Vision Express and neither came close to the level of care and attention to detail. I put off having treatment for five years as I wasn't happy with the way I was treated by the other companies. After my treatment I really couldn't be happier. Best thing I've ever done.

I felt very confident with the service I received. The eyes are a difficult area to make the decision to go ahead with surgery, but I was reassured at all times and apart from nerves on the day, I was confident that the surgery would be successful. Everybody was very nice, friendly and confidence-inspiring. Everybody seemed to understand the procedures and took an interest. I now have 20/20 vision probably for the first time since I was about 7-8 years old (42-43 years!) and I am enjoying the experience very much. Thank you.

I decided to have treatment because I had been very short-sighted for years and I hated wearing thick glasses. My experience was very good. If they can get someone like me through it, they can help anyone! I can see when I wake up and I can swim etc. I also don't have to worry about eye infections anymore. The service was excellent and I don't think it could be improved.

The whole process is very well organised. The CLE treatment I received was straightforward, painless and most professionally carried out. The lens exchange taking about 15 minutes on each eye, after having worn spectacles for over 53 years, the end result is amazing and highly recommended (although I still need to wear spectacles for reading (+1), the +9 prescription I previously had and being at the limit for wearing varifocal spectacles, meant that I would need to have two pairs of spectacles going forward. Peripheral vision is superb and being able to see others clearly when swimming is a whole new experience. Many thanks.

I had worn glasses for 25+ years. I knew that Laser surgery was not an option as I was very short sighted, I had implantable contact lenses done and am thrilled with the results. My vision is now clearer that it was with contact lenses/glasses. I would highly recommend this treatment to family and friends.

I decided to go for treatment as I had been wearing glasses since childhood. I had been thinking of having treatment for the last 10 years. I knew I was not suitable for Laser so my experience was excellent. The care provided was very good from the very start. I was very impressed with the thorough consultation and the treatment itself was painless and very quick. Having the treatment has changed everything. I can now do a lot more sports. I can enjoy my life a lot better I am very happy. For people with high refractive errors and astigmatism plus amblyopia there is a hope now. Implantable contact lenses are an option which is safer and reversible. I highly recommend it to everyone with this problem it will change your life.

The decision to have my eyes lasered was honestly one of the best decisions of my life. I only wish that I had done it earlier. I was kept informed at every step of the way and at no time was there any pressure to proceed. The procedure was quick and absolutely painless. It took only just over a day for my eyes to return to normal, except of course with their new 20-20 vision! I have honestly forgotten that I was ever short-sighted. I researched my surgeon Mr Pillai and I am certain that I picked the very best practitioner in the field. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to any future patients as I have done to all my work colleagues. It is definitely worth paying for the best.

Having worn contact lenses for over 25 years my eyes suddenly became intolerant to gas permeable lenses. My optician suggested I change to soft lenses, whilst these were more comfortable my vision was not good enough and I still had problems with them. Laser eye treatment was not an option for me as my prescription was -11; it was recommended that I have the Lens Replacement operation. I was apprehensive to go through 2 operations, but they have been life changing. They were fantastic right the way through. Everything is explained so you know exactly what to expect. It is wonderful to never have to wear contact lenses again. My distance vision is better than it has ever been. I have now done much more swimming than I have ever done as I can see in the water. I do have to wear reading glasses but this is a small price to pay as I now have much better vision than I have ever had.

What I would say is that I had procrastinated about having laser eye surgery for many years, having been put off the idea by friends and general Opticians. I wish I had not taken any notice of them and had had the treatment at least 5 years ago. When I was recommended by my new Opticians in Thrapston, I felt confident in their track record and expertise and ready to go ahead with the procedure. I had quite a high prescription and have now already reached 20/20 vision through LASIK Wavefront. I would recommend anyone thinking, to go ahead with treatment and improve their quality of life.

Deciding on Lens Replacement surgery is a serious procedure and it was very important for me to feel I was in very good hands from the start. From the first telephone enquiries up until the surgery and post surgery, I could not find fault with the services provided (compared to the somewhat patronising attitude of the practitioners in my own country of residence!)Staff are always polite and concerned and also very patient in answering any questions you my have. The operation itself is surprisingly rapid, the only uncomfortable aspect is the bright op light.

My experience was really great - very professional, I was made to feel very welcome and relaxed completely with people that are obviously very experienced and good at what they do. Also, they were very lovely people. The treatment has changed my life and my brain is still adjusting to it! It's brilliant, I can't wait to take the children swimming and let them splash me! The service was excellent. I wouldn't change anything about my experience.

Very satisfied with the results of ICL treatment. Treatment on the day and aftercare were both fairly easy and very much followed the preparatory materials provided. Staff were excellent and very reassuring.

All the treatment I’ve received has been excellent. I still can’t believe I can see, it’s been the best and most. Life changing thing I’ve done and I can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner.

Mr Pillai told me that I would probably wish I had opted for surgery years ago. He was right. Having had the surgery which was amazingly quick and pain –free I feel a certain sense of liberation – I no longer feel vulnerable without spectacles. I am also still getting used to going out in the rain or drizzle and not worrying about my sight being impeded in anyway.

Excellent, friendly staff and service. Thorough explanations given throughout and willingness to answer questions. Should have done it ages ago! On the day of treatment, slightly slower explanation of eye drops would be appreciated. I researched which clinic to attend and certainly made the right decision.

I like everyone who took care of me and would not wish to single any individual out. I was particularly nice to be recognised and treated personally on visits after the first. The friendliness and warmth and professionalism all staff made the whole process a pleasant and reassuring as it could possibly have been.

The whole experience of my Clear Lens Exchange procedure was amazing. The level of care and attention I received was exceptional. I felt completely relaxed and confident throughout and even though there were several other people having the same procedure as myself, you made me feel like the “only one”.

I found AVC to be very professional and felt safe in their hands. The operation went very well with no pain, just mild discomfort for a few minutes. My vision is now great, I had a trifocal lens put in and it is working just fine. I think the most important thing is that the team seemed very experienced and double checked everything, and as a result I felt safe.

I had taken sometime to build up the confidence to go for Laser treatment, so I was a little shocked when I was advised the Laser may be problematic and I.C.L (Implantable Contact Lenses) may be a better route. I had a quite strong prescription so was keen to get rid of contact lenses. After researched and reading the literature, I elected to go ahead with the procedure. The day of the surgery came and I went to the clinic. I met the staff and the surgeon who were all excellent. The procedure itself lasted 15 minutes and was a little uncomfortable at times, but 4 hours after the procedure, I could see (although a little cloudy) through my corrected eye. The next day I was virtually back to normal (corrected) vision. A week down the line and my vision is absolutely fantastic! I cannot thank the staff and Mr Pillai enough. As I have read so many times; Why didn't I do this earlier?

Fantastic experience from start to finish! Your highly professional, extremely capable and very friendly team filled me with confidence from start to finish. After considering a number of surgeons/clinics before deciding, I'm so glad I made the choice that I did and couldn't be happier with the way I've been treated at all times. While my left eye has a small amount of improvement to go, I'm seeing as well/better than ever before at night and my right eye is perfect, and I'm hopeful it's going to get even better with time. I am very pleased with the outcome of my treatment. The service I received was excellent. I was quite nervous about the procedure, but each of the members of staff I dealt with competent and confident in their knowledge and abilities which put my mind at ease. My husband had laser eye sirgery 10 years ago and his eye sight is perfect still - it is reassuring to see proof that the effects of LASIK are long lasting.
