ICL Surgery Cost in London: Lens Prices, Fees and Aftercare

Editorial update: 20 October 2026. Prices checked against our published fee schedule on this date; your written treatment quote confirms the costs that apply to you.

ICL surgery at Precision Vision London starts from £3,650 per eye, or £7,300 for both eyes when the same starting-price lens is used in each eye. The lens required for your prescription determines the final quote. A £300 consultation fee is payable and is deducted from the surgery cost if you proceed.

This guide explains the budget and the questions to ask before paying. For the procedure, suitability and our clinical team, see ICL surgery in London.

ICL lens prices: one eye and both eyes

The following figures are from Precision Vision London’s published fee schedule. They are not an average across London clinics. Both-eye totals assume the same lens category and price in each eye.

Published lens category Per eye Both eyes
Myopic lens £3,650 £7,300
Myopic toric lens £4,145 £8,290
Hyperopic lens £4,300 £8,600
Hyperopic toric lens £4,550 £9,100
Specialist keratoconus lens £4,550 £9,100

These categories describe the published fee schedule, not a promise that a particular lens is suitable or available for every patient. Confirm the exact implant, indication and quote at assessment. More complex prescriptions or previous surgery may affect costs. The current pricing page is the reference for updated fees.

Consultation, deposits and aftercare

The £300 consultation payment is credited against surgery if you proceed, rather than added to the surgery total. Do not assume it is refundable if you do not proceed; ask for the terms before booking. The published surgical deposit is £1,250 per eye and is deducted from the treatment total.

For a starting-price two-eye treatment, the surgical total is £7,300. Ask the team to show how the consultation credit and deposit are applied on your invoice so neither is counted twice.

Cost or service What to check
Lens, surgery and assessments Confirm the specified implant and all required tests in your written quote.
Medication and follow-ups The published package lists postoperative supplies and 12 months of follow-ups. Confirm your appointment schedule.
Annual eye checks Ask what ongoing monitoring is recommended and who pays for checks after the included period. Do not assume lifelong reviews are included.
Additional procedures Ask what is covered if an implant needs repositioning, replacement or removal; do not treat a general enhancement statement as unlimited cover.
Cancellation or postponement Get the consultation, deposit and custom-lens ordering terms before committing.

Why does the lens affect the price?

The lens category and prescription affect the quote. Toric options address astigmatism; specialist cases may need a different plan. Ask your surgeon to name the proposed lens and explain why it is recommended. A price comparison is less useful if it compares different implants or different aftercare packages.

Questions to ask when comparing London providers

  1. Is this the full price for my prescription and both eyes?
  2. Which implant is proposed, and are there separate lens-ordering charges?
  3. What happens to the consultation fee if I am unsuitable or decide against surgery?
  4. Who performs the operation and who provides routine and urgent postoperative care?
  5. How long are follow-ups included, and what monitoring will I need later?
  6. What costs could arise if another procedure is recommended?

Keep a copy of the quote and terms. If two providers describe their prices as all-inclusive, check that they mean the same services and duration of care.

How does ICL differ from laser surgery and lens replacement?

ICL is a form of phakic lens implantation: an implant is added while the natural lens remains in place. Laser vision correction reshapes the cornea, while refractive lens exchange replaces the natural lens. The Royal College of Ophthalmologists’ patient resources explain the alternatives.

Ask about the benefits, limitations and risks of each suitable option. The possibility of removing an implant should not be interpreted as a guarantee that further surgery is risk-free or that your eyes can simply be reset. There is no promise of permanent freedom from glasses or future eye-care costs.

Finance and long-term value

If you are considering finance, compare the cash price with the total amount payable, not just the monthly instalment. Check the deposit, APR, repayment term and eligibility conditions on our pricing page and in your finance documents.

To assess value, use your own eyewear spending and priorities. Include ongoing eye checks, possible future glasses and travel costs. There is no single lifetime-saving figure that applies to every patient. Convenience for sport, work or travel may matter to you, but should be weighed alongside the clinical advice.

Frequently asked questions

Is the £300 consultation an extra surgery charge?

It is paid upfront and deducted from the surgery cost if you proceed, according to the published policy. Ask how that credit will appear on your invoice.

Are annual checks included forever?

Do not assume so. The current package describes 12 months of follow-ups. Confirm the recommended long-term monitoring and any later appointment fees.

Does a higher price mean a better result?

A higher price alone does not establish a better outcome. Ask about your individual suitability, the proposed implant, the treating surgeon and the care included.
